Technology Professional liability

PLS is currently placing it's technology risks on a package policy that covers the professional, media, and network security/privacy exposure.

The media section will cover the insured for copyright infringement and personal injury while the security/privacy section will cover the insured for any breach in their system from a hacker that steals customer's information.

The security/privacy section will cover first and third party claims. The biggest exposure is the notification costs and credit monitoring which is required by law. For a small premium, the insured can transfer the risk of a claim to an insurance company and let the experts handle it.

Internet companies, social networking websites and dating websites have also been a target for claims, including copyright infringement and personal injury. PLS has a market that is willing to write these hard to place risks.
